Aww, this place has been so quiet lately! :(

Well, I haven't exactly posted anything either! lol So, here I am again, posting another attempt at nail art.

I've tried several times to do a snakeskin print type design, and I've failed. But this one time, I thought it actually came out pretty damn good. ;) At least good enough to not be embarrassed.

Dark beige base from Mavala, black from IsaDora and gold from H&M. No expensive brands, but I often find that the cheaper polishes comes out better than the expensive ones, for some reason. (And I love that gold from H&M, because it actually has a bit of a sparkle in sunshine!)

I got a magnetic nail polish for Christmas from a friend, so I just had to try it out!

The polish is by 17 (I think it's available at Boots only?) and the colour is a very nice mauvish dark purple. The magnet on the top is of course detachable, and it's easy to use. I've seen polishes of this kind that demands you hold the magnet over the painted nail for up to 30 seconds, but this one only needs 10. So that was easy.

I liked the subtle "tiger's eye" effect that appeared, and I think it looks great together with the pearly white I chose as a contrast. :)

Copied from a tutorial I found on YouTube once upon a time (before they wiped out all my favourites in the recent redesign):

I have now wrapped all my nails up like Christmas gifts. LOL Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

If they don't get too damaged before New Year's, I doubt I'll redo them for that. This took soooooo long!

This week I wanted something with a Christmas feel.

My co-worker asked me the other day what my nails look like naked, without anything on, so I included a pic of that too. My camera is beginning to crap out on me, so sometimes the flash is really aggressive and other times doesn't work. I'm sorry for the badness of pic quality.

Base colour is Supreme Red by IsaDora. Some white polish, and then gold glitter and some gold stars. Let me just say that when using loose glitter, you get it everywhere! LOL

My last experiment lasted over two weeks actually! But that was also while I had the flu, so it didn't get a lot of wear and tear. ;)

Yesterday, I wanted to spice up the slightly boring blue I already had. I'm sorry about the glare in the pics, I'm not friends with this camera...

Just a bit of glitter and some rhinestones, but it looks pretty cool I think. :)

Since I managed to get rid of the break that's been plaguing me for the last 5 or 6 weeks, I celebrated by painting my nails red. But just red is a bit dull, right?

Let's just say that painting curved lines is more difficult than it looks on YouTube! LOL (Especially on your dominant hand!)

I'm busy painting walls at work now, but that doesn't mean I can't have fun with my nails, right?

I've been wearing Russian Navy by O.P.I for a few weeks now, because I broke one nail and because of the nail glue, splotches of the blue gets permanent... But I got a bit tired of just having it plain again. So, with the help of some blue glitter polish and a minty green, I got the following result.

It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the result. Now I can't wait to get wall paint all over them! LOL

It seems I am now incapable of simply painting my nails. THEY MUST BE STAMPED. )

It was time again. Time to redo my nails. The spring nails lasted pretty well actually, through doing dishes and shopping and typing. :)

Yesterday when I was out shopping, I did actually find a set of stickers, just because now I know they exist and so I kept an eye out for them to see if maybe I could find some. ;) And, since this is the place where I also heard about the scotch tape technique, I thought I'd try that for myself. Fun to do something new!

So, the result is under the cut )

Here's a hint you all probably know, but I just learned: If you want to change the polish on your toenails, wait till you're ready to change the polish on your fingernails as well. Luckily, I only dinged the corner of one nail, because this Konadicure came out much better than the last: )

A while back, I found Chloe's Nails and was intrigued by her tutorials for Scotch tape manicures. Then a couple of Sinful Colors polishes caught my eye at work, and I knew they were begging to be experimented with.

Results inside. )

Hi! *waves*

After a long, long winter here, it's finally spring in my country, and I got a little inspired. So when I repainted my nails, I tried to put a little spring feeling into it. Now, I don't have any fancy transfers or rhinestones or anything like that, so I just have to paint by hand. (I have to admit it's a little tricky to do on the right hand, so I didn't take a picture of that ;) )

Spring nails under the cut )

So here are the pics of my first two Konad manicures, as promised. (Edited to add the Konad plate numbers.)

Number One! )

Number Two! )

Anyway, that's my first two Konad adventures. I'm actually pretty proud of them, even though they were far from perfect. I did a better job than I'd expected I would straight out of the box. I'm definitely addicted.
