My thanks to Dain at Ars Aromatica for (re)introducing me to periwinkle - that beautiful, versatile blue-violet colour, so complementary to brown eyes. On a recommendation from Dain, I tested and bought today Stila Mambo, a pearly periwinkle with pink and blue duochrome.

Stila Mambo at bottom right, with my custom Shu Uemura 8-pan palette from several years back.
The bottom left shade in the Shu Uemura palette, which I don't know the name/number of (it being printed on the back of the shadow, which is glued into the palette) is a very close dupe for Mambo. Both are stunning, in the pan and swatched:

Top-Bottom: Stila Mambo, unknown Shu Uemura pressed shadow, NARS Jolie Poupee I (matte violet).
If I had to point out the differences between the Shu Uemura shadow and Mambo, I would say that the Shu Uemura is softer and more pigmented, while the shimmer in Mambo has a greater complexity; at certain angles, they look identical, but at others, Mambo takes on a sky-blue cast, and they look completely different. Jolie Poupee is one of the most pigmented and blendable duos from NARS, and if you are after a matte version of Mambo, you could do no better.
Which is your favourite? Do you wear violet eyeshadows?
