WAAAAAAANT.

I love a lot of the CDG perfumes (especially the Stephen Jones one), and one of my all-time favourite scents is Dzing!, which notoriously has the cardboard/used-books smell going on. So, yeah. Very keen to smell this one.

I've never taken a great liking to any of the CDG perfumes.

But I remember you recommending Iris Silver Mist once upon a time - I ordered a decant of it some weeks ago (along with 15m of Encens et Lavande), and both should be in Sydney by the time I get home in November.

Also expected in the mail soonish: an Ormonde Jayne sample set.

Iris Silver Mist is amazing. IMHO it's one of those ones where, even if it's not your thing personally, it's worth smelling just to appreciate it as art. It's like the most beautiful piece of silvery grey silk.

I got a sample of Ormonde Jayne Woman recently, and I don't think it's one I'd wear most of the time because it's not very me, but whoa. I'm glad to have smelled it.

Have you read Perfumes by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez?

I own a copy, although I can't say that I've read it systematically.

I did read Chandler Burr's The Emperor of Scent recently, which left me very interested in Turin's vibration theory of olfaction. I might write a piece about it for Ars Aromatica when I can find the time.
